Emotional Reunion Behind Bars: Dr. Fauzia Siddiqui Consoles Imprisoned Sister, Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, in U.S. Jail

Dr. Fauzia Siddiqui has met her sister, Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, who is imprisoned in an American jail. After the meeting with the incarcerated Pakistani scientist Aafia Siddiqui, Dr Fauzia Siddiqui posted a video statement on the social media website ‘X (Twitter),’ stating that Aafia Siddiqui’s condition seemed worse than before in jail. She expressed her inability to articulate the state Aafia is in. Dr Fauzia mentioned their meeting in jail, describing a glass barrier between them. Both sisters sat facing each other, shedding tears. This encounter has deeply disturbed Dr Fauzia, who says that meeting Aafia in such a condition is breaking her heart. She concluded the meeting by expressing her immense sorrow, leaving Aafia Siddiqui in the same distressing state once again and appealing to her Pakistani brothers to do something for Aafia’s release.
Fauzia Siddiqui’s lawyer, Clive Stafford Smith, tweeted that, finally, Dr. Fauzia met her sister, Dr. Aafia Siddiqui. They were not allowed to touch each other during the meeting, and Dr Aafia Siddiqui was in tears due to the pain. It is noteworthy that yesterday, Dr. Fauzia Siddiqui was present outside the American jail to meet her sister; however, due to the delay and reluctance of the American jail authorities, she couldn’t meet her sister.
